The physicians of Lowcountry Urology Clinics offer decades of combined experience to our Charleston SC urology patients.
We know that patients facing issues of urinary function, prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular or sexual function have many questions and concerns. Our goal is to listen to those concerns, provide expert diagnosis and offer the most current treatment options.
Among our urologists, you will find a history of leadership in urology department administration at the university level, as well as urologic research and published works. Our 12 Urology Providers
Dr. Bielsky trained at the Medical College of Virginia and returned to Charleston in 1979. In 2006 Dr. Bielsky became one of the original practitioners at Lowcountry Urology Clinics.
Dr. Brandli received his BS in Kinesiology from UCLA in 1990. He received his Medical Degree from Penn State University and completed residency training in General Surgery and Urology at Indiana University in Indianapolis.
Dr. Britton earned his MD at MUSC in 1994, and completed his Urology studies at UNC in 1999. In 2006, Dr. Britton became one of the original practitioners at Lowcountry Urology Clinics.
Dr. Mark Buchanan graduated from the University of Tennessee, earned his MD from University of Tennessee School of Medicine, and performed his residency at MUSC. He is a member of the American Board of Urology.
Jessica Burt earned her BS in Biology in 2016 at Ohio State University before completing her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Practice from Ohio University in 2019. She completed clinical rotations in urology, obstetrics and gynecology, and general surgery.
Dr. Carter has conducted research on calcium metabolism and renal stone disease, and he has presented to and been published by the American Urology Association. He is currently involved in ongoing prostate cancer research. He was a founding partner when Lowcountry Urology Clinics formed in 2006.
Dr. Ellett graduated summa cum laude with a BS in mathematics and biology from Hampden-Sydney College. He completed the MD/PhD program at MUSC as the distinguished graduate of the year, and remained for his internship and residency, training in minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery.
Dr. Marshall earned his MD from MUSC in 1989, and has spent most of his career in Urology. In 2006 Dr. Marshall became one of the original practitioners at Lowcountry Urology Clinics.
Dr. Alexander Ramsay graduated from the University of South Carolina, and earned his MD at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he also did his residency.
Dr. Shaffer graduated from James Madison University, and went on to obtain her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her Urologic training at Medical University of South Carolina in 2009, and is board certified by the American Board of Urology.
Dr. Steele has been practicing Urology and urologic surgery since 2000. He was a founding member of Lowcountry Urology Clinics when the practice formed in 2006.
Dr. Marshall Wingo graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology, earned his MD from Emory University School of Medicine, completed residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, and Fellowship training in Endourology, Laparoscopy, and Robotic Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
